Welcome Note by the President

It is a great honor and pleasure to serve Medical Profession in Uganda as the President of Uganda Medical Laboratory Technology Association (UMLTA). As President of the Association (UMLTA), I cordially welcome you at the 34th Uganda Medical Laboratory Technology Association Annual Scientific Conference. Together with my highly committed colleagues in the executive we aim to contribute to the advancement of research and practice in Medical Laboratory Medicine through our various activities, foremost the annual scientific conferences and to be as responsive as possible to your needs and ideas.

I want to take hold of the opportunity to express our association's deepest gratitude to the conference organizer, UMLTA General Secretary, and his dedicated team of colleagues who have worked so hard to make this conference into a huge success. UMLTA is a great success story, but we are sure that we can make it better still by reaching out to practitioners and policy makers more, by building an even stronger community especially for the early career Scientists, and by taking even more advantage of our unique situation of bringing together people from all the corners of the country and beyond. As the new President, my aim is to build bridges with the other Associations in the region and beyond, to build bridges between UMLTA and policy Makers and involvement of young Medical Laboratory Scientists as drivers of change.
