Scheme of service update

The scheme of service for the Laboratory professionals was on Wednesday 6th December, 2017 presented to the Health Policy and Advisory Committee (HPAC) and it was approved and passed to be presented to the Top management of Ministry of Health after which it will be presented to Ministry of Public service for final approval

CPD Phase 3 Successfully done

CPD is a technical assistance programme to support the professionals in refresher courses especially on selected topics and in this roll out the focus was put on Hepatitis Diagnosis, Customer care services and Ethics and Professionalism which took place between 28th Nov to 1st Dec, 2017 in Mbarara, Soroti and Masaka regions. The training was attended by over 300 participants from seven districts representing the regions. The districts covered included; Mitooma, Bushenyi, Sheema, Mbarara, Kabale , Ntungamo and Rukungiri, Rakai, Lwengo, Kalungu,Bukomansimbi,Masaka, Lyantonde, Sembabule, Kumi, Bukedea, Soroti, Serere, Kaberamaido,Ngora, Katakwi and Amuria

100% attendance from the Annual Conference

The 35th UMLTA annual Scientific Conference that was organized under the theme "Laboratory Systems Strengthening for a Resilient Health System" attracted over 420 participants from all over East Africa. The conference was organized in conjunction with the Federation for East Africa Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (FEAMLS), Central Public Health Laboratories (CPHL)/Uganda National Health Laboratory Services (UNHLS) and Allied Health Professionals’ Council (AHPC). The conference took place in Arua District at Desert Breeze Hotel from the 1st to 3rd November, 2017.

Our New Home

We have moved to a new home that was provided to us by the Uganda National Health Laboratory Services. Our offices are located on the first floor on the UNHLS complex.
